Beyond Our Walls
In July and August we collect book bags for the students at Amanda Elementary. They need the small bags as their lockers are very skinny. Donations can be dropped off in the church office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on Sundays in the narthex. Thank you for supporting our community kids.
In September and October we collect hats, scarves, mittens and socks for students at Amanda. Send God's warmth in a tangible way to the children in our neighborhood.
In November, we will be collecting for our "Elder Tree". Please donate any of the suggested items or anything you think our church members might enjoy. The suggested items are…large print books and magazines, puzzles with mid-sized pieces, daily devotional calendars, devotional books, slipper socks, gloves and scarves, small lotions, note cards, stamps, packaged candies and treats, and homemade cookies, candies, and snacks. Prayerfully consider making it part of your holiday season to not only donate items for the "Elder Tree" but visit one or two church members that are unable to worship with us each Sunday.
The Deacons fund a local family.
Join Chef Jim and his crew in the Hope House kitchen (on Main St. in Middletown) every third Thursday of each month. Together we will reach out and put our prayers in motion.
During the months of April and May, we collect donations of infant needs such as diapers, blankets, towels, and baby clothing.
SLINKY Tutoring program
Donations to provide quality educational assistance to children at risk in the Middletown School district are needed. $80 a week secures our coordinator's expenses. Our coordinator identifies children for the program, works with classroom teachers, and solicits volunteers for transportation and instruction. There are usually 10-12 children enrolled in this program. Student supplies run $20 a month per child. Donations are also important to provide a nutritional snack.
